Judaica Old
My CD Rom won't read... Help?
Operating system Windows Vista. Old CD Rom (Encyclopedia Judaica) is identified as blank. Never had problems with my old computers.
you may be dealing with one of 3 situations
- faulty CD
- faulty CD/DVD drive
- Vista doesn't recognise the files on the CD
assuming you have checked the CD in another drive or in another computer, and works fine, and other CDs/DVDs work fine in your Windows Vista machine, you don't have either of the first 2 problems
are you really sure it comes up 'blank'? You should go into your 'Computer' icon and see your D: drive (assuming it is your DVD drive) and double click the icon.
if files and folders do show, you might have to find the correct program file to run on the CD, often with older CD-ROMs, autorun would kick in and run a CD for your automatically but that somehow may not be working here so you have to run the file manually.
